Die Standard Bank-Matie Wiskunde- en-Wetenskapsweek is ʼn inisiatief wat deur die Universiteit in samewerking met fakulteite, iThemba Labs, die MTN ScienCentre, TRAC en SUNSTEP aangebied word. Volgens me Lorna Bartlett, organiseerder van die Wiskunde- en-Wetenskapweek, is dit vir die Universiteit Stellenbosch (US) baie belangrik om n bydrae te lewer tot die uitbou van belangstelling en vaardighede in die velde van wiskunde, wetenskap en tegnologie. Die praktiese werkswinkels, demonstrasies, interaktiewe eksperimente of vertonings oor wiskunde en die wetenskappe bied aan leerders die nodige ondersteuning om abstrakte teoretiese konsepte te visualiseer en te begryp. Daarby kry leerders die kans om sommer baie pret te hê terwyl hulle hope leer oor wiskunde, tegnologie en wetenskap.
