The importance of sustainable development was highlighted at a reception hosted by Stellenbosch University (SU) for the Resource Panel of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) last night [24 November 2010]. “We face a catastrophic future if everyone on earth used resources at the same rate as the developed world. The economies of Europe and America and Japan are terribly wasteful,” Professor Ernst von Weizsäcker, Co-Chairperson of the Resource Panel, said in his address. Full story: tiny.cc
