Jennifer de Beyer, a 23-year-old biochemistry researcher from South Africa’s Stellenbosch University, spoke to high school students at the MTN Sciencentre in Cape Town as part of National Science Week, May 10 to 17 2008. She heads off to Oxford in England soon because she’s won a Commonwealth bursary to do a doctorate in systems biology.
